How to Organize Tasks with the Odoo 18 To-Do Module

The To-Do module in Odoo 18 is an easy-to-use task management tool that helps teams and individuals organize their everyday tasks. Workload management and progress tracking are simplified with tools that enable users to create, allocate, and prioritize tasks. Odoo’s To-Do module is designed to enhance your workflow and keep everything organized in one easily accessible and customisable platform, whether you’re handling team tasks or personal reminders. This blog helps you create notes, convert them into functions, and share the created tasks.

Choose the To-Do module directly from the Odoo 18 dashboard.

Create a New To-Do:

To create a new To-Do note, click on the + button or the New button, as shown below:

A pop-up screen appears, where you can add the To-Do Title and click on the Add button as shown below:

Here, you can see the newly created to-do in the Inbox stage. Click the Star icon to set the to-do as a high priority. By clicking the Clock icon, you can schedule the to-do activity. Click the tick icon to mark the to-do as done.

The details of the newly created To-Do will be visible here. When you click on the Star icon, you can mark it as a priority high. The Assignees of the To-Do will be automatically filled. You can add relevant Tags for your To-Do. Then add a short Note based on your To-Do. Then save it.

Convert Note into Task:

To convert a note into a task, click on the Actions button and select Convert to Task as shown below:

A pop-up window will appear where you can select a Project from the list. The Assignee for the Task will be automatically assigned. Under the Tags option, choose an appropriate tag from the list and click on the Convert to Task as shown below:

Here, the To-Do is converted into a task. When you click on the Star icon, you can see that the task is of high priority. The name of the Project and the Assignees will be automatically assigned. You can add appropriate tags under the Tags option. Under the Milestone, you can link the project to a sales order. When the milestone is reached, it will deliver automatically. You can also set a Deadline and Allocated Time for your task. You can add a brief note about your task in the Description tab.

Under the Timesheets tab, click on the Add a line option. Then, add the employee’s name, date, description, and time spent on the task.

Under the Sub-tasks tab, click on the Add a line option to add a title for the sub-task and add an assignee for the sub-tasks. Then save it.

Share the Task:

To share the task, click on the Actions button. Next, click the Share Task button as shown below:

A pop-up window will open, where you can copy the link of the task. Under the Recipients option, you add a person to share the task. Under the Note option, you add a short note about the task to display in the email. Select the Send button as shown below:

The shared email will be visible on the left side of the screen.
